About Me
Hi there! I'm Christina — a highly motivated and results-driven PR, communications, and marketing professional.
Creative and analytical in nature, I'm audacious in asking questions and have become intoxicated with the process of piecing together stories from a foundation of ambiguity. When I hear something interesting, I make sure to understand it in its entirety.
From my hometown of San Jose, CA to Orange County, CA for college, I was lucky enough to live in Prague, Czech Republic. When I'm not working, I can be found swimming, reading, or doing both at the beach!

Photography
In partnership with the Paros Foundation, The Aghcheeg ("Girl" in Armenian) Project, is a photojournalism exhibition documenting Armenian women in Armenian society. Spearheaded by Christina Cherekdjian and funded by Notre Dame High School, this exhibit toured museums and creative spaces Armenia and the United States for 1 year.
As a young Armenian living in America, I was interested in studying women in their everyday realities in present day Armenia. My vision was to document women of all ages, socioeconomic statuses, and rural and urban environments through photography with the help of other young diasporan women. My hope is that these photos will be able to help educate, and spark interest and dialogue about modern day roles of women in Armenia’s society.
The Need
A study of women in Armenia is well overdue. Although women’s roles in society have evolved immensely throughout the centuries, they still differ vastly among different cultures and countries. Through discussion and education, this project helped spark great interest in this topic and create discussions that will inform future positive cultural changes for women in Armenia.
Short Term Impact
As a result of grant funding from Notre Dame High School, my team and I purchased cameras to document our 2 month travels in the city of Yerevan and surrounding villages. The result was a photography exhibit that shared the dichotomy of urban and rural life for Armenian women. The exhibit in Armenia traveled throughout several towns and villages. The printing of the photos boosted the local economy in Armenia.
Long Term Impact
In the long term, the photo exhibit toured Armenia and the United States for 1 year period. This project will continue to inform and educate Armenian women, both in Armenia and the diaspora and help bring change and advancement.
